The best FR 5.56 loadout and class setup in Modern Warfare 3

Few bursts is all you need.

Assault rifles have cemented their place in Modern Warfare 3’s metagame, and if you’re looking to stir things up, a burst rifle like the FR 5.56 (popularly known as the FAMAS) is the one you want to take into battle.

The burst rifles like the FR 5.56 and DG-56 were dominant picks during the early days of MW3. While the FR 5.56 isn’t popular anymore, following the several nerfs, the weapon is a beast in its own right if you use the correct attachments.

Here’s the best FR 5.56 loadout and class setup in MW3.

The best FR 5.56 loadout in MW3 buffs the weapon’s accuracy and makes it easy to land your shots across mid to long ranges. Stay steady and mount on head glitch spots or walls to take them down in a few bursts.

Best FR 5.56 attachments in MW3

  • Barrel: 600mm FR Longbore
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Underbarrel: Bruen Heavy Support Grip
  • Magazine: 45 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: SA Cation Grip

This combo of attachments considerably increases the FR 5.56’s recoil control and range, allowing you to finish off enemies with just a few bursts. The 600mm FR Longbore, Bruen Heavy Support Grip, and SA Cation Grip buff the assault rifle’s recoil control, accuracy, and range.

We like to equip the Slate Reflector for clean ADS, however, you can use an Optic of your preference. Additionally, you can swap out the 45 Round Mag for a Stock or a Comb attachment to add more stability, but considering the base FR 5.56 offers 25 rounds, we like to run the 45 Round Mag for longer engagements.

Best FR 5.56 class setup in MW3

  • Vest: Infantry Vest
  • Handgun: Renetti
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade
  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Field Equipment: Trophy System
  • Gloves: Marksman Gloves
  • Boots: Lightweight Boots
  • Gear: Tac Mask

The Infantry Vest is our kit of choice to boost mobility with the increased Tac Sprint duration and lower regen time. The Renetti is our go-to Handgun for finishing off enemies or close-range engagements.

The Stun Grenade and Semtex will be useful when you wish to charge onto enemies while taking cover or clearing an area while maintaining a safe distance. The Tac Mask reduces the effects of the incoming grenades, letting you steadily aim and eliminate opponents.

With this loadout and class setup applied to your FR 5.56, you can keep up with the likes of MCW and MTZ-556 dominating the MW3 lobbies.
