I've got a bone to pick with you.

Bones in Palworld are predominantly used to make Medicine to cure your Pals from ailments they get while working hard at your base, so it’s always wise to have a decent stock of Bones for whenever you need them. Bones can be challenging to find, so this guide explains exactly where to find them.

How to get Bones in Palworld

Bones are dropped by specific Pals in Palworld when you kill or capture them, including Anubis, Bushi, Cawgnito, and Gorirat. This was one of the only ways to obtain Bones until the recent Sakurajima update, which is covered later. Killing or capturing Pals that drop Bones is still one of the better methods for getting the item, particularly in the early game with low-level Pals like Rushoar and Vixy.

Tip: Go for Vixy!

Several types of Pals can drop Bones for you, but Vixy is the most common and best target to farm.

How to farm Bones in Palworld

The best way to farm Bones in Palworld is by capturing Sootseer and setting the Pal to farm. Sootseer’s partner skill, Tomb Raider, allows it to find Bones when assigned to a Ranch. This is the only way for you to passively collect Bones in Palworld.

The only way to get Sootseer is on the new island added in the Sakurajima update. Sootseer is found at night in a small northwestern location. The island is intended for players in the late game, so trying to catch Sootseer isn’t recommended unless you’re at least level 38+.

Where to buy Bones from Wandering Merchants in Palworld

Wandering Merchants have Bones for sale among the rest of their wares, though the merchants themselves can be a pain to find. Luckily, you’re sure to find one in the Small Settlement near the center of the map. Palworld has a few settlements and towns throughout the map, but this one is the easiest to find in the early game.

Bones cost 100 Gold each, which is relatively cheap, meaning simply shelling out the cash might be the most time-efficient method for anyone who’s looking to stock up on this material. Plus, this location also happens to have a Pal Trader, so if you find yourself short of coins, you can always sell a Pal or two.
