How to get to the Great Abandoned Central Mine in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

A tricky, yet important landmark to find

One of the trickier-to-reach locations in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the Great Abandoned Central Mine. Many players will likely want to find the mine due to it being where you unlock the Autobuild feature.

Luckily, we can point you in the exact direction, so you can get there in a flash.

Exact location and coordinates of the Great Abandoned Central Mine in TOTK

If you’re not looking to get to the Great Abandoned Central Mine as soon as possible, a quest called “A Mystery in the Depths” will eventually require you to visit the location. However, for any eager players out there, you may also visit it as early as you wish. The precise coordinates for the mine are -0660, -1500, -0518.

Tip:

You’ll have a much easier time navigating the pitch-black perils of the Depths if you gather Brightbloom Seeds before diving down below. Brightbloom Seeds can be attached to an arrow or thrown from Link’s hand to illuminate the area surrounding where they land. They’re found all over the Surface and Sky Islands of Hyrule in caves and wells. However, they aren’t found in the Depths so stocking up is a good idea!

Step 1: Go to the Nisoij Lightroot found at coordinates 4195, 1396, 0207. This is accessed by jumping into the Chasm that is found south of Lookout Landing. Many players will come across this Chasm during the quest “Camera Works in the Depths” or at the beginning of the game, as it’s one of the first Chasms you will stumble across.

Step 2: Go southwest from the Lightroot. From there it will be a fairly linear path to reach the Great Abandoned Central Mine. Once there, you can interact with its Forge Construct and pick up some valuable charges.

Step 3: The Great Abandoned Central Mine is the key area in the quest “A Call from the Depths,” which requires you to deliver eyes located around the Great Plateau to the Bargainer Statue in The Depths below. The exact coordinates are -0822, -1940, 0523. We recommend activating all nearby Lightroots before attempting to complete this quest, and stopping in at the Hylia Canyon Mine to collect a piece of the Miner’s Armor on your way.
