Liquid reportedly sign Australian CS2 star, Polish prodigy ahead of BLAST Fall Groups

A new direction for Liquid.

Team Liquid has made multiple major changes to its Counter-Strike 2 squad in advance of the roster lock for the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

Though there are still a few days left of the summer break, orgs that made roster moves now had to finalize their squads and register new players for select tournaments, including BLAST Premier Fall Groups and its June 8 transfer lock. Liquid reportedly registered Australian star Justin “jks” Savage and young Polish prodigy Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak for the event, according to Dust2.us.

Jks is best known to CS2 fans for his stints on G2 and the Renegades squad that was briefly picked up by 100 Thieves, only few have heard of ultimate. The 20-year-old Pole has been a part of the domestic scene since early 2020, where he competed at local tournaments, including the Polish Esport League. He made his big stage debut in 2022 when he went to ESL Pro League Season 15 as a part of AGO.

Ultimate is primarily an AWPer, and it’s unlikely Liquid will field in-game leading duties to jks. With that in mind, it’s more than likely Twistzz, who already had been reported to pick up the role, will lead the squad in the upcoming tournaments.

The team benched cadiaN in the middle of June, and parted ways with coach zews shortly after. His role is expected to be filled by mithR, who previously coached MOUZ and Apeks. Skullz is apparently the third member to depart the team, seemingly joining FURIA, with whom he had been reportedly registered to play at Esports World Cup.

BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024, the first event for Liquid in the second season of 2024, will begin on July 29.
