The inaugural Olympic Esports Series aimed to connect traditional sports to their esports counterparts with the series taking place on June 23 to 25.
Players converged from across the globe to Singapore to compete in over a dozen video game titles, all linked to a traditional counterpart in the Olympics. Just Dance is associated with dancing, for example, and Zwift with Cycling.
There were also three show matches featuring traditional esports taking place in parallel with the tournament, with Rocket League, Street Fighter 6, and NBA 2K23 matches slated over the weekend. They weren’t part of the official competition, however.

All results and scores of the Olympic Esports Series 2023
As a demonstration event in parallel to the Olympic Games, the Esports Series doesn’t follow the same format or rules. For one, players and teams competing in the tournament don’t represent their respective countries.
Here are the winners and their respective scores in each of the Olympic Esports Series tournaments.
Shooting (Fortnite)
Lucas Malissa of Australia managed to just edge out a win over American Alexander Feyzjou in the final after Feyzjou missed the finish line twice in what would have been close calls between the two competitors.
Tennis (Tennis Clash)
On the mobile game Tennis Clash, Anass Benghazi of France defeated Shenghao He of China in a tense 3-1 final.
Chess (chess.com)
2023 European Individual Chess champion Alexey Sarana bested Maksim Chigaev in the final with a clean 3-0 sweep.
Table Tennis (VR Eleven)
Two Frenchmen, Antonin Landreau and Karl Vast, faced each other in the finals of the Table Tennis showmatch finals, with Landreau edging out the 50-year-old Vast in three games.
Baseball (WBSC eBASEBALL: POWER PROS)
Mori Shoma defeated fellow Japanese countryman Horiike Hiroki in the baseball finals by a 6-1 scoreline.
Cycling (Zwift)
Team Fuego won the Cycling tournament with a large lead. The team was made up of Lou Bates, Marlene Bjärehed, James Barnes, and Martin Maertens.
Dance (Just Dance)
French competitor Amandine Morisset claimed victory in the Just Dance competition, taking the win ahead of runner-up American competitor Joseph Cordero, and bronze medalist Antonino Pomilia from Italy.
Sailing (Virtual Regatta)
It was a brilliant June 24 all around for France, with the country’s representatives taking out both the inshore and offshore categories in the sailing. Tim Carpentier won the inshore Virtual Regatta tournament ahead of British sailor Cavan Fyans and Portugal’s Francisco Melo.
In the offshore category, it was nothing but France: Baptiste Renaut defeated countrymen Xavier Coquiard and Aurélie Martin for an all-French lockout on the podium.
Archery (Tic Tac Bow)
In an archery version of the popular game Tic Tac Toe, it was a one-two finish for the U.S., with Jared Montgomery claiming gold with a final shot bullseye ahead of compatriot David Chan. Both Americans saw off their rivals in the semi-finals with Japanese competitor Kyosuke Takebayashi emerging in the bronze medal match over Great Britain’s Mark Thurston.
Motor Sport (Gran Turismo)
It was a dominant victory for French competitor Kylian Drumont, claiming gold by a wide five-second margin over British representative William Murdoch. Drumont began the final race from the front row and never looked back, overtaking eventual bronze medalist Anglel Inostroza of Chile almost two-thirds into the 42-lap race.

Rocket League showmatch
While not an official event at the Olympic Esports Series, Rocket League was represented by two lopsided showmatches. Both ended in 3-0 sweeps, with Resolve and Karmine Corp defeating Gen.G and G2 Luna, respectively.
Street Fighter 6 showmatch
Thailand’s Thum “MindRPG” Homchuen emerged victorious in the Street Fighter 6 show tournament, taking down Antonio “Kusanagi” Medrano in the final. The event featured four players, including British player Kim-Philippe “The4Philzz” Badiabio and Japanese legend Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi.
NBA 2K23 showmatch
Three teams converged on Singapore for the NBA 2K23 showmatch in partnership with FIBA, with Turkey coming out on top in an action-packed final over Brazil. The Phillippines took Turkey to overtime in their opening match but couldn’t hold on, then falling to Brazil in their second match to finish in third.
