Apex Legends, like most battle royales, segments its available loot and modes with a seasons system, and each season has a hard start and end date.
Seasons last about three months and typically introduce a new legend, balance changes, and battle pass. Seasons also often include new cosmetic items, weapons, maps, and more.
Starting with season five, released back in 2020, quests were added to the game. These daily and weekly goals help players accrue points toward the battle pass, which grants rewards for each level. Quests can also be aligned with collection or lore events and can feature their own trackers separate from that season’s battle pass.
The most recent season, called Upheveal, kicked off on May 7. It features Alter, the new Skirmisher legend from another dimension, multiple updates to Broken Moon, five Katar Mythic artifact variants and the Exotic Shards currency to the heirloom store.
At the end of each season, you will get end-of-season rewards based on the tier you finish in before the next season starts.

How long is season 21 of Apex Legends?
Based on the battle pass counter, Apex season 21 is expected to last 90 days and will end on Monday, Aug. 5. That means Apex players have a little under three months to complete the seasonal pass and collect all the pass’ associated rewards. Like previous seasons, season 22 will immediately start after Upheveal wraps up, with Respawn announcing the official launch time in the season’s gameplay trailers.
