Rolling for Teamfight Tactics champions helps you get the desired units from the TFT champion pool. That’s precisely why you need a detailed understanding of what bag sizes are and the best times to roll down for various costed champions.
Deciding when to level or roll is a core mechanic within TFT. Rolling odds, champion pools, shop odds, and even bag sizes can change with each set. This article provides tips, strategies, and all updated patch note changes.
What is the leveling system changes for TFT
Set 11 was a testing ground for XP and leveling systems changes. Changes were applied to Levels Eight and Nine, increasing the XP needed to reach the next Level, preventing players from being able to fast Nine easily. I don’t know if any changes are slated to drop with TFT Set 12 at the time of writing, but it is possible.
- Level two to three: XP is two
- Level three to four: XP is six
- Level four to five: XP is 10
- Level five to six: XP is 20
- Level six to seven: XP is 36
- Level seven to eight: XP is 48
- Level eight to nine: XP increased from 72 to 80 (Patch 14.9)
- Level nine to 10: XP reduced from 84 to 80 (Patch 14.9)
Players typically roll at Stages 3-2, 4-1, and 5-1, with variety built into that standard based on win/loss streaks, economy, and power levels of a Teamfight Tactics lobby.
What are TFT shop odds in Set 11
Big changes were applied to level seven rolling odds through Patch 14.12. To improve two and three-cost reroll options within the Inkborn Fables meta, the design team reverted a nerf to three-cost odds by increasing it from 36 to 40 percent. In exchange for the buff, slight nerfs were applied to one and two-cost champions. The changes made Level seven through Patch 14.12 should improve rolling down when needed since the level has been a bait since the early days of TFT Set 11.

Loot Orbs will always pull from the Champion Pool, and the odds of seeing a Spatula on the Carousel were reduced for TFT Set 11.
What is Stage player damage in TFT?
A system for player damage in TFT has your Tactician take small amounts of damage per enemy champion left alive during the early-game Stages while increasing through the game.
Patch 14.9 within TFT Set 11 adjusted player damage per stage from 0/2/5/7/9/11/17/150 to 0/2/5/8/10/12/17/150. Surviving enemy damage is plus one for every enemy champion that survived combat that round. The increase in damage at each stage makes it harder to hit level Nine without either a win or loss streak and/or Econ Augments.
When to level up in TFT Set 11
In conjunction with the TFT rolling chance chart, each set has a meta that determines the most opportune times to level up and roll down for key units that can make up your endgame comp.
Here is a standard level-up guide for TFT Set 11. Updates will take place for Inkborn Fables if there are any major meta changes.
- Level four: Stage 2-1
- Level five: Stage 2-5 or Stage 2-3 if seeking three-cost champions after the carousel
- Level six: Stage 3-2
- Level seven: Stage 3-5 or 4-1
- Level eight: Stage 4-2, 4-5, or 5-1
- Level nine: Stage 5-1, 5-5, or 6-1
- Level 10: Stage 6-1
If a player dies, the champions on their board and bench will return to the pool.
How many champions are in the TFT Set 11 pool?
With every set release, Riot Games releases a chart detailing everything we need to know about the champion pool set, including drop rates by tier and level. There are a total of 59 champions in TFT Set 11.
- Tier one (13 champions): 22 of each champion in the pool
- Tier two (13 champions): 20 of each champion in the pool
- Tier three (12 champions): 17 of each champion in the pool
- Tier four (12 champions): 10 of each champion in the pool
- Tier five (nine champions): Nine of each champion in the pool
The number of TFT champions within a pool is important when rerolling. Players attempting to reroll a four-cost unit, for example, must grab nine out of the 10 in the pool to successfully craft a three-star tier-four champion.
What level should you reroll for TFT Set 11 champions
Rerolling is a core gameplay strategy within the Inkborn Fables meta. Here is a breakdown of when to roll for a one-, two-, or three-cost Set 11 champion.
Champion’s cost | Level to reroll |
---|---|
One-cost | Level 5 (slow-roll after hitting 50 gold) |
Two-cost | Level 6 (slow-roll after hitting 50 gold). You may also roll on Level Seven. |
Three-cost | Level 7 (slow-roll after hitting 50 gold) |
